As we approach the start of the new academic year, Accommodation Services opened the doors of UAL’s 13 Halls of Residence to new students on Saturday 5th September for our annual Welcome Weekend.
Over the course of the weekend more than 1,600 students moved into their new homes and were greeted with 26 different welcome events held just over those two days, with a whole raft of further events to look forward to every day over the coming month courtesy of the Social Programme.
Jamie Leggett (Residential Operations Manager) said: “The overall Accommodation Services department really pulled together to make sure the halls had an even bigger and better welcome weekend than before. From front of house staff to trolley pushing, everyone really got involved to make sure every part of the day was seamless, friendly and unique. We are confident that the overall student experience has been enhanced by this strong welcome and will continue to develop and improve throughout the year.”
With over 30 UAL staff members attending and assisting, the operation proved to be more successful than ever. It was certainly a weekend to remember!
